Oh my god! My local natural food store has just installed this gigantic machine with like 18 different nuts and seeds that you can crank and make into your own butters. I am so excited to try it!

Wow, you really are fortunate to have that nearby, I'd love to try some pumpkin seed butter or pistachio nut butter.

I like pumpkin seed butter and sunflower butter, but it tastes a bit like tahini to me.

Kettle Foods. I LOVE their salt & vinegar chips. It's vegan, unlike most other brands.

on the butter makers tho--i wonder how often they are cleaned. that has stopped me from using them, plus they are cost the same or are more pricey than just buying the jar (at least by me).

Mmmm... One of my favorite things about whole foods... almond butter... I don't always care for the jars b/c I don't always want to spend $5-$10 at once... and I kind of like the way the fresh nut butters come out better than the pre-packaged stuff.

I made my own peanut butter today for the first time! Tossed some organic, roasted, no-salt peanuts into my food processor and let it churn away. First the peanuts turned to "powder". I just let it keep running and watched the powder turn to butter. It was soooo creamy and warm - yum! Where's the dancing peanut?!
