l I love avocados but the dont love me back!! I usually get nausiated when I eat guacamole, so I have avoided it for years. My husband and I went to dinner and had fresh guac made for us at our table and by the time we got home I was vomitting out of control!! No more avocados for this chick......I felt awful but after I threw up I felt much better!

Sorry to hear that you don't react well to avocados.

Welcome to VB by the way.

Hi! I have this same problem. I think it's some kind of allergy to a certain protein in avacados. Anyway- I cannot eat them anymore because I get super sick like a stomach virus. It's pretty terrible. Glad to know I'm not alone!

I went to a Mexican restaurant with my friend earlier today. And since everything there is either cheesed or buttered, I just ordered a side of guacamole.

And now I'm feeling rather sick.

I suppose it does have a negative effect on some people, then. This is a new (and rather unfortunate) discovery for me, too.

Guacamole spoils quickly, I guess because of the high fat content. My daughter used to work at Tortilla Flats, and they were super careful about the guac because it can easily make people sick. That said, if they mixed it at your table, it was probably pretty fresh! grin.gif

aww poor thing!

I did experience nausea before after a few days of self-induced guac fest. I avoided it for nearly a year after. But now I can eat avo no problem again. Strange!

Something similar happened to me with almonds and bananas.
