Well... I live in Mexico, with a family where everyone [but me] eats meat, pork, and chicken and fish everyday....

I feel quite uncomfortable but, i guess I am living with it quite well hahaha n.n'

So my question is: Is there a franchise or enterprise where you can get a great variety of meat-free products??

I don't really know if there is a Whole Foods or something like that in my country, but at least in my city there is nothing like that

So please help!! Any information or tip or advice is useful!!

My situation is quite desperate haha

I don't really know people with the same diet I have, so I don't have anyone that can give me nice tips or advices as you people can! x)

Anyway.. thanks for checking this topic ^^

Unfortunately, I have the same problem as you...

I just find it a whole lot easier to buy a block of tofu and some cans of beans, chickpeas, etc and replace the meat with that...

I've never ordered from this one but they have a TON of faux meat products...

I'm not sure about Mexico but here in the US most major grocery store chains carry veggie products in the freezer section.

When I lived in NY I used to shop occasionally at May Wah and their food is amazing. It's a bit spendy but i think it's well worth it.

not sure what to tell you about grocery shopping in mexico, but it will get a lot easier to be vegetarian as you learn where to find different products and eat some new foods. keep at it and you'll feel much more comfortable with it soon.

Thank you for posting that link anna! I found a chinese restaurant about a half hour from my house that serves a lot of vegetarian food! I never even knew. I'm really excited about it. But I'm sorry that you couldn't find one near you....

Oh well... It sucks that my city ain't vegetarian friendly

But I think I have an opportunity to change something over here right? Probably the demand of this kind of restaurants will increase, who knows?? haha

Im glad that the link was useful ^^

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. I live in a very small town and there is nothing for me to eat around here! The place I found is in a college town so that's probably the only reason it's veg friendly. Hopefully someday there will be places popping up everywhere!

Just because there was no restaurant listed in your town doesn't mean there is not a veggie friendly restaurant in your town. Happy Cow relies on people like you to look around their towns to find a veggie friendly restaurant and then tell Happy Cow all about that restaurant and put it up on their website so other people can find the restaurant.

The best thing to do is to walk into friendly restaurants and ask them if they serve vegetarian food. Some may not put vegetarian food on their menu because no one asks for it. If you start asking for it then they might start offering it.
