I've noticed that since becoming a vegetarian I'm much less hungry than I was as an omni. I actually work to keep my calorie intake at a healthy level (I have a very physical job and burn lots of calories per day)....when, before, I was always snacking or over eating and stuggling with diets. I also rarely have cravings for anything.

Anyone else feel the same way?

No.. lol.. I'm just the opposite!

I used to eat 1-2 meals per day as an omni.. now I'm eating 5-6 "meals" per day.. I feel like I'm always hungry! But I also eat lower calorie foods now too (lots of fruits/vegs)

Are you drinking more water than before? That may be why you're less hungry?

Maybe your body is satisfied with the amount of nutrients it's getting if it's not sending you hunger signals. This could change, esp. if your physical activity changes.

^^^ That's exactly what I'm thinking.

I eat out of boredom, I'm never full

I think the people who feel less hungry are just getting more fiber in their diet. Fiber (and better whole foods) make you feel full longer. Processed foods don't make you feel as full as long.

I have the feeling I'm less hungry because in general I eat tasty and nutritious stuff that I need, and then my body doesn't crave for more..

On the other hand I think I do eat more often than before (but lost some weight).

I have noticed this too. I used to could finish off two helpings of anything during a meal, now I'll be hard-pressed to finish one.

I get low blood sugar between meals a lot, but I feel like my blood sugar has become a lot more stable. Of course, every now and then I still get light-headed and need to grab a snack, but it seems like it hasn't been happening nearly as often since going veg.

You're gonna make me puke my pants.
