This is what I had to settle for as my lunch today:

And to think I could have had a Big Mac.

Wow. That looks "horrible". It's a wonder we aren't all starving to death...

Looks really yummy!

I had a bunch of odds and ends for lunch today, because we had a cook off at work. There were not many main dishes that I could eat, but I had my fill of fruit, veggie and dip, cucumber dip and hummus with pita bread, pasta salad, and 2 desserts.

Eurgh looks absolutely foul, I'd so much rather have a greasy old burger between white bread with limp lettuce and a slab of tomato in it.

What's the yellow vegetable in that? Looks delicious!

Yum. Reminds me that I need to grab lots more summer squash before the season is over!

Snozzcumbers? Is that related to the snozzberry?

I love that book (= Roald Dahl was a big influence during my formative years

The OP should check out the "Food Porn" thread and start contributing. That looks yummy indeed. I also would like to take a gander at the recipe.

By popular demand, I've posted the recipe. You'll laugh at how easy it is. It's easy and CHEAP.

Thanks for posting recipe. To make it even cheaper you could use normal rice and teriyaki sauce (or soy sauce and a bit of sugar if you can't get teriyaki).

When I first read the title of the thread, I was SO hoping the OP was being sarcastic and facetious!!

Otherwise I'd have to get all

I can't believe some of the stuff people actually call "food" nowadays....

But, the pic of the squash and rice-now THAT'S food!!
