Cilantro: Love It or Hate It?

Whenever I say that I hate cilantro with every fiber of my being, about ten people chime in with "How can you say that? Cilantro is so good!" But there is always one other person who can relate to my utter abhorrence of that demon-weed, cilantro. So I want to get a pseudo-scientific count.

Cilantro is horrible added to anything. I will eat it in a Vietnamese restaurant straight up, but it's so strong it damages any food it's added to.

My fiancee has the same unfortunate affliction as you. However, hers does have a twist... she can tolerate and even enjoy it in some dishes that are classically made with cilantro, such as guacamole and some salsas if a Mexican flavor is desired.

UgH! is cilantro the same thing as coriander? I made some tomato soup once from scratch and i was looking for spices to add. i found some coriander in the cupboard and decided to use a little bit x 2! It was horrible!! I forced myself to eat like half the batch becasue I made so much, but never again....

I consider the dislike of cilantro to be a character flaw.

Cilantro's pretty crappy. I can have a little bit, but I won't be able to finish something if it has too much.

The real poll question should be "What's worse: Cilantro or Anise?"

Oh! Sort of like asparagus scent in your urine... whether or not your urine smells strange after you eat it is because of your nose not the way your body processes the food. There's just a genetic difference between those that can smell it and those that can't.
