Thread: so is Hayden Panettiere vegetarian?

  1. #1

    so is Hayden Panettiere vegetarian?

She "runs" or is deeply involved with a Save the whales/dolphins group and goes surfing in Japan to confront the dolphin hunts with other supporters.

    She shops at whole foods.

She dumped her last b/f and now is dating Milo Ventimiglia, Heroes show co-star that has been Vegetarian already..

What is to think she is not? I havnt found anywhere online though that she eats meat though? It seems like she does wear leather, uggs, coats, boots etc, could be fake but who knows.

She spoke to Obama and the Clintons about supporting putting an end to allowing Japan to "conduct reasearch" on whales each winter.

I did a search on her to find out if she's vegetarian but couldn't find anything either way. I tend to think that she's not because I think it would be mentioned somewhere if she was. But I think she'll realize the logic of veg*nism eventually if she hasn't yet. Save the dolphins, slaughter the pigs. Doesn't seem right.
I don't myself believe that, even when we fulfill our minimum obligation to not cause pain, we have the right to kill animals. I know I would not have the right to kill you, however painlessly, just because I liked your flavour and I am not in a position to judge that your life is worth more to you than the animal's to it.

Yeah I don't really think she is or she would probably have said it somewhere. For the Save the Whales campaign she started a website selling her personal clothing and accessories to raise money and I noticed the shoes were leather, some of them worn by her.

Like Mr. Sun said though, hopefully she will come around, especially if her bf is veg.

This article claims she is, but it isn't very specific:

She's pretty, in a blonde way.

That Whole Foods picture is funny. They have 3 reusable bags but are only using 2 of them and are still using paper bags.

Link from Seavenseas' post (for those who don't want to read the whole thing:

Her involvement with this cause began a few years ago, when she first saw the footage of how these creatures of the seas are hunted and killed. She’s a vegetarian, for the same reason her new co-star and long-time friend, Kristen Bell, is one too – they are both big fans of animals.

Hmmmm... that's the first I've heard of it. I hope she is.... it's so silly to save dolphins and kill pigs.

    And her boyfriend:

Not too long ago, Milo Ventimiglia went on a date. Nothing elaborate, just dinner with a woman he’d known for a while, though mainly in passing. As the evening progressed and his companion began to learn more about the 30-year-old star of NBC’s hit drama Heroes, the young lady grew increasingly uncomfortable. Finally, recalls the actor, she blurted out: “So you’re polite, you don’t drink, you don’t smoke, you’re a [b]vegetarian[/, you keep yourself fit, and you’re successful. What’s wrong with you?”

    And her friend Kristin Bell:

At age eleven, Bell became a vegetarian.[35] In an interview with PETA, Bell stated, "I have always been an animal lover. I had a hard time disassociating the animals I cuddled with—dogs and cats, for example—from the animals on my plate, and I never really cared for the taste of meat. I always loved my Brussels sprouts!"[35] During the time she lived in Michigan, Bell fostered animals from Michigan Humane Society and she now supports the San Diego based Helen Woodward Animal Center. Bell often attends fund raisers for the ASPCA and other non-profit organizations dedicated to protecting animals.[6] She owns a Welsh Corgi-Chow Chow mix named Lola, a Welsh Corgi-Chihuahua mix named Shakey, and a black Labrador Retriever named Sadie, who was 11 years old when she was rescued from Hurricane Katrina and adopted by Bell in 2005.[40][7]

It seems likely to me now that she is indeed vegetarian. But is she vegan? lol

According to Wikipedia, she's been in a "Got milk?" ad, so my guess is a strong 'no'.

Well, if you knew anything about her you'd know she's an activist who is out on the front lines so she needs milk to keep her bones strong. But I mean other than milk is she vegan?
