I'm mildly concerned about the fact that I haven't had my period more than twice in the last four and a half months. I seem to be skipping a month in between periods. I need to have a pre-op physical in the next week, before I have surgery on the 6th, so I'm going to ask then. I haven't had a pelvic in several years (I know, I know, bad!) and I don't take birth control (since I'm gay, not much chance of getting knocked up unless evolution takes a giant leap unexpectedly!). So yeah - not pregnant, not on BC, no other major health concerns. I did lose about ten pounds a few months ago, and then unfortunately gained most of it back, so that MIGHT be it. But I've been very irregular for a while now.
I wonder if it might be related to having a lot of surgery. Anesthesia always screws with my body. Every time I've had general anesthesia my period has been off (too early, too late, skipped, extra light or heavy, etc). I haven't had surgery in about 9 months though, so who knows. Cumulative effect? *sigh*
Should I be more worried about this?
ETA: Who wants to start placing bets that I'll get my period the night before surgery? Because the only thing that makes knee surgery more fun is coupling it with cramps and bloating. Not to mention having to be unconscious in nothing more than a hospital johnny in a room full of strangers with a tampon in and one leg stuck up in the air. Yeah, that sounds like fun. Real dignified.

I'm sorry you're going through these troubles. I really really hope your surgery goes well and you're not on your period for the surgery!

I've been spotting for the past couple of days. It's a good thing I had a pantiliner on yesterday or my undies would be stained.
