The pie came out great. I did add sugar to taste, but it was not too sweet like some desserts.

We had this tofu last night and it was yummy!!!

1 packet tofu sliced length wise to make two thin "breast of tofu"

    Smear on this marinade:

    1 TB tomato paste
    1 1/2 TB lemon juice
    1 tsp garlic paste
    large pinch oregano and basil
    20 twists of black pepper

Bake at 200C (400F??) 15 minutes, then flip and bake another 15.

    Did you freeze/thaw first?

No i am too lazy for that. I just press between a clean tea towel over and over, moving the tofu to dry spots on the towel until when you press there is not a wet imprint left.

Although I've not eaten meat in over 15 years, I only recently found out I can stand tofu. The son of a client deep fried it (after the freeze/thaw/press)and sprinkled it with red chile, onion and garlic powders. I was hooked from the get go! I know its far from healthy but I couldn't possible care less! Now I find myself thinking "How can I stick some tofu in this recipe?" Marinated and fried in hot oil before stirfrying with veggies is my current favorite. Thinking I will try the chocolate pie recipe I saw on a very early page of this thread.

One of my favorite ways to eat tofu is to as cold as possible, cut into strips or cubes, and dipped in soy sauce. Apparently, my roomies' kitty, Hailey, likes it that way, too.

I bought my very first package of tofu today! I have had it before and I have liked it, but I have never made it myself. I want to use it in a stir fry this saturday. I bought tofu that was already cubed. How long do I stir fry it? Til brown? Or tender? (I know, basic questions but I haven't made this before and its' a little intimidating.)
