    disodium inosinate/guanylate

Well, i bought a can of vegetable soup today, and it has these ingredients called disodium guanylate and disodium inosinate. I've been trying to do my research, some places say that It's made from seaweed, others say its made from dried fish or other animal products. I usually call the 1800 numbers on the can for these kind of things, but this can doesnt have one. So, I was wondering if I can get some help here.....

    Thanks

everything i read when i was looking up disodium inosinate said it came from fish, and i couldn't find anything on the source of disodium guanylate, so i've always avoided them both.

Well, The company got a hold of me today and told me that it is derived from yeast. They said something like "With new technoligies, its not necessary for us to use animal products. Its cheaper for us to use yeast, and it makes the customer happy"
