    White Wedding...

I was reading someplace...if you are not a virgin you aren't supposed to wear white at your wedding. Does anybody actually DO this? Is it something that people in modern times honor? Is everyone going to think I'm a skank if I wear ivory?

My mom says I can't have a white wedding dress. I actually prefer ivory dresses, for the most part, anyway. I don't think it really matters nowadays, anyway.

I have this sudden urge to hijack the thread to talk about the wedding dresses I'm looking at .

I was a virgin at my wedding and I wore off-white b/c I would have looked like a corpse in pure white.

edit: I will say that it starts looking culturally tacky if you're on your fifth wedding and are still wearing a full-length, ballroom wedding gown.

If I have a formal wedding, and my partner isn't a virgin, I wouldn't want her to wear a white dress. Similarly, I will not (at my wedding or otherwise) wear a dinner jacket before 6 pm. IMO you do formal, or you don't. Formal isn't halfassable.

The ad at the bottom of the page just made my night. XD I've only been looking at wedding dresses all damn day.

I would break my "no-white" rule for this one: http://www.discountbridal.info/displ...ge=Jill-1b.jpg

EDIT: Oh, it comes in ivory. Score.

Argh. If I could only find the dress I was going to use for my wedding *that never happened* haha. Mine was not very traditional, mind you, it had a black design in the bodice but was so extremely stunning.

Really, if you have an ivory dress, who cares? I've seen plenty of wedding dresses that incorporate light pretty pastel colors, some that are just a shade off from white and some that are 10 shades off.

Besides, it's YOUR day. YOU wear what YOU want. and if you're worried about some people thinking poorly of you, maybe they don't need to be invited to the wedding, anyway.

I can't imagine why you'd want to invite someone who would think poorly of you for wearing Ivory. Come one, 'let he who is without sin cast the first stone . . .' and all that jive
