Marble Cake by galinusa

This recipe is suitable for a: vegetarian diet.
Ingredients:

2 cups self-raising flour or 2 cups all-purpose flour with 2.5 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup butter, unsalted
2/3 cup caster sugar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 tsp vanilla essence
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tbsp milk
1/8 tsp baking soda
optional: your favourite frosting/icing
Instructions:

1) Preheat oven to 180C.
2) Grease and flour a 5"x8" loaf pan.
3) Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
4) Add eggs one by one, beating slowly with each addition.
5) Mix the vanilla essence into the batter.
6) Fold in the flour in a few additions, alternating with milk.
7) Separate the batter into two portions. Leave one as it is.
8) To the other portion, add the cocoa powder, baking soda and milk. Mix well.
9) Alternate the two batters into the loaf pan.
10) Using a skewer, create swirl marks in the batter.
11) Bake for 40-45 mins until the cake passes the toothpick test.

Cut into 10 pieces. Serve warm with coffee or tea.
