What are your favorite skincare and haircare products

Just curious on what everyone uses as far as hair care and skin care. I've been using ABBA's line of hair care products for about a year now and their stuff totally rocks. I even heard that Brittany Spears likes Abba's hair products so much that the one demand that she made during the filming of her first movie was that the trailers be restocked each day with ABBA hair care products so that the actors could always look their best.

As far as skincare, I love Origins. It's a slighly pricier line and not toally vegan but about 85% of their products are and they'll even mail you a list of their non-vegan products if you ask.

Anway, definately post which products you use, hate, etc.

I have been looking for a new shampoo and conditioner that does not contain sodium laurel sulfate. I have been using Avalon Lavendar Shampoo & Conditioner but it's really drying my hair out. Anyone know of something that's cruelty-free and s.l.s.-free and is good to your hair?

Haven't heard of ABBA. Love the singing group, though... I love Origins stuff and was just thinking of asking for some of their products for Christmas. They send me a $10 gift certificate every year on my birthday, too. Great company.

I'll have to think of more stuff I love later.

    Hey Bebe,

You must live on the east coast. Abba haircare products are some of the best haircare products sold on the west coast. The entire line is completely vegan and all of the labels are written more or less in layman's terms. Of course that means you can figure out pretty easily what is in each product. Abba's haircare is not affiliated with the swedish music group at all but, like the music group, they totally rock. You can actually get some great prices on abba haircare products on ebay but I encourage you to research a bit to determine what you need.

Here are some descriptions of their product line to help you out. They are also available at Trade Secrets stores all over the U.S.

    Pure and Natural
There is a strong desire within each of us to be the best we can be... inside and out. At ABBA, we understand part of that feeling comes from looking your best. We believe that for your hair to be the best it can be, you need the finest hair care products that can be made.

Our commitment is to produce high performance products to help you achieve the results you want - shiny, healthy hair with style and manageability to match the pace of your lifestyle.

    Environment First
Every formula is a pure and natural one. All our products are formulated from only the purest natural botanicals, herbs and essential oils from plants, flowers, fruits and berries. These biodegradable formulas are 100% Vegan- no animal ingredients are ever used. We put the environment first, acting responsibly to make every product safe for you and our world.

It is a quality that sets ABBA apart from all other. The basis of our superior quality is the combination of the herbaltherapy with our unique tri-molecular protein system. These three proteins, hydrolyzed human hair keratin, soy and wheat, penetrate the hair to completely condition and correct any damage. The ultimate result is inner strength and outer shine.

All of this combined with aromatherapy essences for a positive sense of well-being, help to complete your beauty therapy experience.

We invite you to discover the difference ABBA can make in your life- waking each morning to healthy, shiny, manageable hair!

Here's a link to a page with descriptiions for the entire line.

Cool. Thanks for the info! Yes, I am on the East coast in NY. We have Mamma Mia on Broadway (which also totally rocked) but not ABBA hair care products, that I know of. I'll have to do some investigating.

Cool. Yes, just check with trade secrets for Abba Hair care products. I know there are quite a few trade secrets stores in NYC so you shouldn't have a problem finding them. Trade secrets has the full line of Abba hair care so you should be able to find whatever you need. Let me know what you think of them. Also, if you let me know what kind of hair you have I can definately make a couple of suggestions for you to start with. So far, Abba Hair and Origins skincare lines are my absolute favorites.

    Ciao,

    Mark

I use Kiss my Face lotion and liquid bath soap. In Canada, the drugstore chain Shopper's Drug Mart offers animal product free shampoo, conditioner and hair gell in its own Life Brand line. These work just fine for me and are very inexpensive.

For skin, I use Kiss My Face A&E Moisturizer. I also use Olive Oil soap, I don't know if that helps any.

For my hair, I use Organics Chamomile & Lemon Verbena Conditioner. For shampoo I use Organics or what is on sale (cruelty and animal free). I also use Giovanni, Styling Lotion.

The Organics may be known as Nature's Gate.
