    Eating and Exercising

Do you guys notice that any particular food/type of food helps you through a workout especially well? Unless I workout early in the morning, I like to eat about 1 1/2 or so before a hard workout. Tonight, even though my legs were feeling tired, I had an awesome run. I don't know if it had to do with dinner or not. So what is your favorite pre-workout meal?
Love the pitcher less and the water more.

I always enjoy a good smoothie.
My favourite is: Blueberries, Vanilla Soymilk, Silken Tofu, a Banana( ), and 2 tsp of Flax oil. Yummm.
It's very filling and gives me lots of energy!

I usually do better eating after I'm done. If I'm working out in the morning, I'll grab some cereal sometimes though. Of course, there's always orange juice.

Whole wheat pasta with tomato sauce gives me lots of energy and staying power, it seems. If I eat it the night before running (if I run in the morning) or about 2 hours before (if I run in the afternoon) it makes me feel great!

I wake up early to get a workout in, so I usually grab some O.J. and use breakfast as my motivation to get some exercise, but eating well the night before definitely helps.

Peanut butter and toast is great if you have a good hour before you go run. If I have less time, a half a banana is perfect (if I'm running for an hour or less, that is). If you can afford them, energy gels are wonderful - they digest fast and give you a quick boost without danger of getting a sidestitch, usually (eating much causes this for me).
Oh how I once loved tuna salad
Pork and lobsters, lamb chops too

Hmm, I've never tried those energy gels before. Interesting.

And Jessikt, that smoothie sounds wonderful... but the only ingredient in it that I have is a banana! And I don't even have a blender here at school!

I do have to do a better job of eating more at night to have energy for my AM workouts. I'm doing 2 a days for now until I get swamped from classes and I only feel so-so in the mornings really. Unfortunately, there is no ww pasta in the dining hall, but I have a hot pot. I suppose I could do that in the room.
