    Exercising To Feel Good/Tone Up

I absolutely cannot lose weight, but I'd like to do some exercising just to feel good about myself (I've been really depressed lately, and I hear exercising can help a lot), muster up some extra energy, and tone up some.

What do you guys do? I was thinking of getting up a couple of minutes early to do 15-20 minutes on the treadmill before I leave for work. Does this sound good?

Sounds good to me. Even a good 15-20 minutes walk (or run or whatever) in the morning can really jumpstart your energy for the day! And I can guarantee that you'll feel much better after you do

Of course! A little running can go a long way. A couple of things come to mind, though: If you're not a regular runner, you ought to look out for ankle/knee problems and also maybe consider what sort of shoes you're running in. Also, maybe mixing it up would be a good idea? Say, run MWF and do jump rope or even better some easy upper-body stuff like push-ups on Tu/Th?

That sounds great! Running is really a great form of exercise!!

I love weight lifting BTW because when you finally see the results, you feel so good about yourself. Maybe try that too!

Oh, I wouldn't even be running - just fast walking/light jogging. Don't want to be too out of breath getting into the already hot subway. But yes, I'll do some mixing also - probably some strength training stuff. I'm a more of a machines chick - I love the seated leg press (So far I'm up to 130 - not much, I know, but more than I weigh!). But thanks a lot guys! I'm looking forward to this - I'm going to start tomorrow morning.

Good for you for being self-motivated to get fit. I should probably start excersizing as well but I don't really know of any place where I can use a treadmill...

i like yoga for this 10-20 minutes of sun salutations completely stretches, strengthens, and energizes the whole body. you'll love it.

it's pretty easy to find sivananda style sun salutations online.

If you can't lose weight though, be sure that you eat extra to make up for it!
Love the pitcher less and the water more.
