    sweat

I've only been a vegetarian for about one year, October will be a year.

I also just started working out, I notice that I sweat a lot.

In highschool I use to wrestle and we conditioned hard, and I sweat a lot more now then I did back then. I wasnt a vegetarian back then.

Im wondering if this is connected to my diet and if excessive sweating is a sign of something bad..?

Ive also been very small throughout my life, I currently weigh about 115 and im 5'5... im trying to gain weight, but its always been hard for me... I have always eaten a lot, still do.

I think feeling sweaty is really gross, and I kind of just want to not sweat so much.

    any response would be appreciated!
    Thanks!
    b

I hate sweat, I hate to sweat. When I was young I never sweated no matter what I did, but as I got older that changed. And now I hate hot weather and I hate the sun. I am planning on moving to a place that the sun does not shine so much and it does not get so hot. I don't think it has anything to do with diet.

The only thing I can think of is if you are eating less protein maybe you have more water in your body to be sweated. (Protein metabolism uses a lot of water.) I don't know.

it could be glandular. does it smell like just normal sweat or does it have a strong odor.. like if you sweat due to heat or excercise it has a certain smell, and when you sweat due to anxiety, stress, etc, it has a much stronger smell, which is also the type that's more likely to stain clothes. i heard this a while back, i can't remember where. but anyway depending on how you sweat it could be a glandular or stress/anxiety related problem, that can probably be controlled somewhat. if it's really bothering you go see a dr. about it and see what they can suggest

I dont think it would be the cause of what food you eat. I sweat alot too more then I used to a few years ago. I think you should just buy a different kind of deodarent and put it on whenever you sweat I keep mine in my backpack heh.

Sweat is good. Your body naturally eliminates toxins through your sweat, and the process does other useful things as well, like eliminating excess sodium, etc.

That is why you shouldn't wear anti-perspirants.

True about the anti perspirants. I dont think that deodarent is the same. I think it just gets rid of the smell.

You're right, deodorant kills the bacteria that makes the sweat smell (good). Antiperspirants stop the sweat altogether (bad).

I find that vegetarians smell a lot better when they sweat than meat eaters do. It's a sweeter, cleaner scent. Unless of course they have Candida, in that case, they smell like mold.

When I first started reading everything I could get my hands on about veg*nism, I read that deoderant isn't necessary for vegans. The body odors are attributable largely to the flesh and/or flesh by-product decomposing in the body before excreation. Ewww! The analogy was roadkill....imagine cruisin' along in the summer in 98 degrees heat and driving by roadkill that's been there for a couple of days. The stench is gagging. Now, imagine the meats inside your body baking at approximately the same temp for a couple of days (or however long it takes to go through your system). I don't know how true this is, but it sounds like a possible explanation. I may try going without someday and test it. I've always worn deoderant; I'm not confident about going without it's been so long.
