go to this site, click on "commercials" then listen to the radio commercials.
The one I am talking about is the third one, "Frank Believes".
"Frank" says that "vegetarians are not only weird, but maybe unamerican"
Then go let them know your opinion on this ad.
If you are going to contact them via email, you can use their contact form,
but since that only allows very little room to say anything,
it'd be easier to use SaraLee's contact form at
http://www.saralee.com/ourcompany/contactus.aspx

How lame is that? It's not as if I'll be eating their products any time soon but I'm sure a few omni's may take offence to that. Eejits.

This is what I wrote in a short PM to their company:
"This contact regards a "Ballpark Frank" commercial in which vegetarians are branded as "weird" or "unamerican". I could care less, seeing as I'm a proud Canadian...but as a vegan...what does that make me?! 'Uber-weird'? I think a lot of omnivores could take offense at such a callous message too! Yeah...just cause I don't want to feast on the flesh of innocent animals who have been tortured and then mashed up and offered as some pathetic attempt at being an 'American' food, I'm weird? I'm weird because I KNOW how poorly these animals are treated and take a stance against that? I'm weird because I know that factory farms degrade the environment and don't want to add to the problem??
Word of advise...for whoever is responsible for these idiotic advertisements...they not only insult a minority group composed of more sensitive and knowledgable people...but in this day and age, more and more people are converting to vegetarianism or veganism...if not for animal rights, then for health reasons! Your company would make more money by NOT offending those people who are on the 'outskirts' (who you'd believe you COULD offend, as they wouldn't be buying meat products to begin with...so you don't see a possible FINANICAL loss with maiming our collective reputations)...instead, if you offered vegetarian 'dogs', you'd be welcomed by a larger volume of the public.
As it stands now though, I'd never buy from your company, regardless of what was offered.
Sincerely,
(my name)"

You have to wonder about a company that believes people want to buy anything from a slob like Frank. That is the best spokesman they could come up with? Who is he, the son of the company CEO? Who wants to eat something that will make you look like Frank?![]()
It's just a marketing campaign designed to get people talking. Which, in turn, causes people to buy their products. Which, in turn, means profits for them. I think it would be better for you to just ignore them and boycott them silently.

I think commercials like this are funny. Kinda like the t-shirt that says "vegetarian- indian word for bad hunter". Chill out people, a hotdog commercial isn't gonna end the world. Especially considering how many omnivores there are that wont even touch hotdogs.
