    Livid [Mega Hunting Rant Warning]

First off, I have to say, if I see one more moron insisting that we have to kill animals because they're starving and we're "saving" them, I'm going to hurt someone. (I doubt the buck in this post was "starving")

Okay, so there was a hunting argument on another site I frequent, a children's pet game. I have friends on there, and my significant other is on there. We both posted on the thread, though I posted long before he did.

I got really fed up with the hunters' excuses and the personal attacks they were making at people who were disagreeing with them. So I decided to just not look at that thread anymore after my last post. I got to another board and see a post that simply says "pic heavy" and something about a youth group. I go....there are several pictures of this grinning jerk posing with a dead deer, with it's guts spilling out of its slashed belly.

Before I could respond, he (my guy) made me get off the computer and went and reported the post to the mods for graphic content. CHILDREN play that site! In fact, children make up the majority of the game's population!

It pisses me off. Hunters have the entire internet. I don't like admitting it, but it's true. They do. They have everything. Unless you're on a vegetarian forum, you'll get treated like pure and utter garbage if you don't support hunting. And although I knew there are a lot of hunters on that site, I also knew that there are a lot of children playing that site and that such graphic content wouldn't be allowed on there. But still....seeing that.

I can't tell you, can't express, just how badly I want to punch that person in the face. Not only for the pictures, but the pure fact that they were happy and posing with a torn up, bloody carcass, and making the deer look into the camera.

I rarely get this upset on the internet over things. Usually, I'm just annoyed. But man am I pissed!

It's amazing how reactionary hunters are, considering that only a small minority of Americans hunt. It almost seems as if they spend more time scanning the Internet for the slightest argument than they do actual hunting.

Hope grows greener than grass stains.

I know! It's absurd. It really, really pisses me off that hunters have the entire internet, yet they troll around and continue to attack any who disagree with their barbaric practices.

What really set me off about a month ago. Oh, I can't even begin to describe how badly I wanted to strangle these people! Someone posted a thread about deer. It was a thread for people who like deer and want to talk about them.

All these people started trolling on there, saying they love how deer taste and started going off about how much they loved gutting and stuffing them. -_-

You know, I don't join hunting forums and throw AR at them! And still, they can't find the decency to leave others alone.

Hunting makes me absolutely sick. It's just pure, senseless barbarism. I don't understand the impulse at all.
What kind of sick bastard gets his kicks by shooting a defenseless living thing?

It would be great if these hunters one day happened to run into a grizzly bear...

They would just shoot it, stuff it and tell all of their friends. There would probably be a big story in the paper and he or she would become some sort of hunting hero that all of the others would admire.

    Beans. They're what's for dinner.

If I didn't know better, I would agree with that statement. Unfortunately, I know they'd just kill it and pose with its bloody carcass and brag about it.

Did you read the story of the first guy to kill a wolf this season?

He and his hunting buddies were out in the woods and stumbled on a pack of wolves sleeping in the sun. One of the wolves woke up and they looked into each other's eyes...and then he murdered it.

I don't get it. How can a person look straight into the eyes of another living being and kill them and LAUGH about it?

I am shaking with anger right now. I just want to destroy people that.

I could tolerate, though certainly not like, hunting if it HAD to be done for survival, but just for kicks? No. Never.

I just told off two of the mods on that site and contacted the site owner.

Mod #1: after bashing people who don't eat meat, she just made an avatar of a calf and said "Beef. It's what's for dinner." I don't care what a person eats, if anyone on MY site acted like that, their asses would be banned. Not only that, but she told me those pictures had been approved by the moderators. I told her, "that's not saying much coming from someone with a tag and a username insulting vegetarians." I also told her she should be ashamed of herself for the way she was acting, and that as a moderator, she should be setting a good example for other players, not taking sides on fights and abusing her power.

Mod #2: Another winner. She bashed non-hunters and went off about how this isn't Disney and people who didn't like the photos were just oversensitive. I commented telling her, just like I told the other mod, that she was not setting a good example for other players and was behaving most inappropriately by blatantly insulting non-hunters. Know what she did? She deleted the entire thread. Yep. And that's a pretty big no-no, too. Mods are only supposed to lock threads, or make them unviewable. She actually DELETED it.

Those mods are going down. I'm taking this issue straight to the site owner.

The trouble with some lifelong hunters is that it gets bashed into their head since their children that they are "conservationists". The general population LOVE conservation efforts and anyone who would provide that "quick kill" to a pretty little doe in efforts to keep that doe from a slow painful starvation. We know this isn't true but most people DO NOT know this. You're job....get that info out there or they'll never know. While doing so, don't be oversensitive, keep you're head on and be smart. Hunters expect the bunny hugging, overemotional, crying, bleeding heart that they can easily crush and take down. Be strong, clear, firm, and know your facts and let em have it.

"We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented." ~ Elie Wiesel

I totally deserve to be in hell for this...but I am now seriously tempted to wear a Jeffery Dahmer avatar that includes the lettering "Human. It's what's for dinner." Humans ARE animals, after all.

I would just love to see the mod's reaction to that. xP

Yeah...I totally have a special place in hell saved up for me.
