    Two points to add:

    1. Water pistol: when shes in the wrong she will soon that being on the couch means getting wet.
    2. When shes not on the couch, pay her a little bit more attention, give her a hug and a little chat every time you see here where she should be, so shes knows you're still friends.

That way she does not become accustom to sleeping on it when you guys are away and when your home you can reinforce her good behavior. During the night, put the 2 sided sticky tape on the part she lays on.

The main goal is consistancy or she will not understand what you want her to do. Sometimes she can lay on it, others she can not.

Personally I don't mind dogs on the couch as long as they only come up when invited so I have the ability to ask them to get off and they will stay off until I invite them again.

    Worth a shot
That is such a wonderful idea! I wish I had remembered to grab it when I was at Target tonight (I read your message earlier). We're still using the "cushion up" idea and it's working out. I caught my dog on the couch twice yesterday, but got her off immediately. This afternoon I was making cookies and watched her jump up. She's a booger! Makes me laugh though, her expression when she's caught is priceless. She knows.

I have a spray bottle, she hates water so it works... short term. I'm constantly praising her and loving on her, I'm home all day. She follows me into the kitchen when I'm cooking and cleaning. She's not short on love, trust me She's a ham.
