Crystal deodorant causing a rash?

I hope I put this in the right forum.

Does anyone else here use a crystal deodorant? I've been using it since early August with no problem...but about three weeks ago I started to get itchy in all of the places where I apply it. After about a week and a half those places turned VERY red and are still quite itchy and a little painful.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I've had a lot of skin problems in the last five years and after having even worse reactions to conventional deodorants (and reading of their terribleness) I switched happily to the crystal...but now I'm sad that I may have to find something else. Any suggestions?

I used a liquid deodorant for a few years that I bought from the local co-op and loved it (it was mostly aloe vera) but it was very expensive and the crystal is so much more economical.

and I sooo feel your pain....I am allergic to everything and I thought these would be perfect for me....wrong.....I got a horrible red rash that was itchy....It took days and many applications of Plain Aloe Vera to get rid of that and I never used it again.....I bought and am using Florere Vegan Deodorant. From Vegan Essentials...I like it....But Its not a fave.

I haven't tried it for this exact reason. I was curious about it until I read reviews and it seems a great majority of people had the same reaction to it as you did.

Well, I think that's very strange, because I've been using it for over a year and I've never had any problems associated with crystal deodorant. It's the conventional "natural" deodorants that make me itch like crazy, although I don't usually get a rash, just a nasty itch.

I don't know what to tell you. Just keep trying different deodorants until you find one that works for you.
