    i'm an...eggetarian?

Well, that's what wikipedia says I, an ovo-vegetarian am. ('Those who practice ovo vegetarianism are called ovo-vegetarians or "eggetarians" ').
But it makes me seem like I live off eggs or something, kind of creepy, if you ask me.

But anyway, good news! I have recently forgone all dairy (except those present in trace amounts). Yay I actually want to go vegan, but I have to still continue eating eggs for health reasons (maybe when I'm older?)

It's easier than I've expected! Although I still have some cheese slices in the fridge, and Annie's Mac and cheese (that nobody else but me eats:/ ). Shall force them on my brother i guess. muahaha.

I'm also quite excited, I just bought some Pacific chocolate soymilk(yum yum) and a small bag of TVP. Any ideas on how to use it?

Eggetarians, lol. This is why I verify everything on wikipedia with other sources

    Congrats on going dairy free!

Eggs are straight up gross . . . unless they are from a clean source .

But not eating meat is the main goal . Congrats !

Eggetarian? Maybe that's someone who is always egged on to eat stuff.

Have the courage to object. Let justice overpower convenience.

Hehe you joke about it, I actually have a workout buddie that is... well I don't know what to call it, raw vegetarian minus the vegetables and fruit? He eats ONLY raw eggs and raw/unpasturized milk, the eggs being from his own ducks and the raw milk being from California (because it's illegal in Nevada). Absolutely nothing else. No meat, no fruit, no grains, no veggies. About the most unorthodox diet I've ever heard of but it seems to work for him.

I know what you mean, according to the 'label' I'm a lacto ovo vegetarian. But never buy milk or dairy products! I do eat range free eggs, but not often. I hate how people do assume that you live off the other things if you don't eat meat. I remember getting this pizza that was a veggie pizza, and I expected a small amount of cheese. She CLOBBERED that pizza with cheese, because I wasn't eating meat, and so she thought she had to make up for it by putting extra. I couldn't even eat it. It was like a big mouthful of glue and I could picture myself falling dead right at the table with all that saturated fat in my body! Now I just tell them I'm allergic to all dairy. Funny thing is, the last time I did that or a mex type dish, they left off the cheese and still brought it out covered with sour cream! People really have no idea.

Anyway, usually my only 'dairy' product is in something I bought, like Boca this or that. When I make my own dishes at home, I use the Galaxy Veggies slices or veggie shreds, and they are vegetarian, not vegan. They work for me and I can find them easily.

NoMad888 - oh wow... I fear this diet will kill him someday. It sounds like an eating disorder.

Ew!! Isn't eating raw eggs unhealthy for you? It may work now but he's missing a LOT of nutrients!

    Vegetarian since 8/03 :)
