i've always made my own main veggie/vegan dish, at least one or two of my favorite sides, and then my own dessert, too. it's a lot of work, but i think it's worth it. most times the omnis enjoy my creations better than - or at least just as much as - the "regular" versions. my mom's gotten better over the years and is now trying her best to find vegan replacements for everything (earth balance or the vegan smart balance spread, soy milk, etc.)... but she just can't NOT have turkey. :/

so i guess my "tip" is to be willing to make your own main dish and sides to share. (no one in my family has food allergies, so that's one less thing to stress about here.)
