My parents gave me no flack when I became vegetarian as kid. My Mum has been pescatarian since I can remember, so there has never been a big burger culture in my family.
My Dad has always been happy with my requests for only organic dairy (even for them) and other things like that. He has significantly cut down on meat, which heputs down to my good influence

Boyfriend became pescatarian 2 years ago and has recently become veggie. His Mum is very supportive when it came to him and also cooking good veggie meals for me. His Dad is very traditional but still didn't kick up a fuss.

My fave aunt is veggie, her boyf only eats meat in restaurants. My grandmother used to be vegetarian, but she no longer can do her own shopping and the aunt that does buys her sliced chicken for the 'protein' (my nanny eats virtually nothing). We live over 100 miles away so cannot have a direct influence unlike my other aunt does. Its just one of those things. I think its because my grandmother no longer knows what she is doing half the time. I think if she knew she was eating chicken she would not be happy.

Longwinded, but yes. I am incredibly lucky to be in a supportive family when so many others have problems!

My mom has been the best about it. She is always on the watch for new products that are both gluten-free and vegan. She helps me prepare meals. She wasn't originally supportive, but she's definitely come around.

My family has been fine about it. They understand my reasoning and respect my decision. My family jokes about it though. Nothing mean, but we all tease each other about everything anyway. Same with my friends.

My best friend turned vegetarian for a while, then stopped. My cousin was a vegetarian also, but when she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, she gave up being a vegetarian. Recently my 12 year old sister went vegetarian. She's been that way for about a month and a half now. I hope she sticks with it, if not, kudos to her anyway. At least I have people thinking about it.

My mom is actually really supportive. I thought she would have a problem with it but she doesn't. She even buys me like two or three frozen veggie meals a week.My dad and my siblings and friends will tease me about being a vegetarian but it doesn't affect me and i know they doen't mean it. Ive heard some bad stories about parnets being unreasonable and i am glad that my family supports me as much as they do.
