It doesn't bother me at all when the faux meats taste like the "real thing". As many others have said, the taste without the cruelty is a great thing for me. Of course, I also enjoy those meat analogs that have their own unique flavor that is unlike anything else.

I have no problem with it. Boca & MorningStar were the initial things I used to get off meat. I think if its a nutritious, meat free meal you enjoy - go for it. Heaven knows, if one doesnt like what they eat its a sure bet they will slide back into old (carnivorous)behavior.

I like Bocca and Morning Star products. I have the Chic*n nuggets and patties, and garden burgers in the freezer right now.

I don't believe that tasting like the real thing is a sin....at least these products are pallatable.
I like the Bocca chikn patties.

I just got some Morningstar Farms chik nuggets and to me they have a weird, fake buttery aftertaste (but NOT in a good way for me.)

I was so disappointed! I don't remember them tasting this way, but it's been a long time since I last had them. Did they change their formulation to make it taste more like greasy chicken? I'm thinking of throwing them out because I really don't want to eat any more of them.

I guess I'm just accustom to the Bocca chik patties. To me they taste 'clean' with no iky aftertaste.

    i agree.
i dont care if something looks or tastes IDENTICAL to real meat, if its meat free, i dont see why i should feel guilty. obviously i understand why some people would, but for me its just about the cute animals so as long as my food hasnt got any dead animals in, then i am perfectly happy

yes, I tore into some fako chicken and it was stringy like the muscle/tendon stuff and it kind of freaked me out. Like one guy said, hammered home to me the reason I quit eating the real chicken
