I was just looking at target.com and it looks like some of their Mossimo shoes may be vegan (I say some because I couldn't possibly look at every single one).

For instance, one pair of shoes' description states:

"Faux-Leather, Tweed Fabric Upper with Thermoplastic Rubber Outsoles, 3" Faux-Stacked Heel."

It seemed like they are trying to say it is 100% vegan with all those details.

I'm having a hard time finding vegan shoes - I just bought a pair of Unlisted by Kenneth Cole shoes because a website (http://books.google.com/books?id=UB9d02-RswgC&pg=PA147&lpg=PA147&dq=unlisted+by+kenneth+cole+vegetarian&source=web&ots=w5xbpEO7E2&sig=dbD_lcxIWc0pzswMemG2jbx5Q_s&hl=en&sa=X&oi=book_result&resnum=9&ct=result#PPA145,M1) listed this line as vegan. But when I got the shoes, there was a sticker on the bottom of both shoes that said "Leather Sole" even though the description stated that it was man-made materials. I'm returning those now...

Anyone know any other specific brands that may also be vegan that I can find at local stores (like Target, Macy's, Nordstrom, etc.) and can you tell me if Mossimo is vegan?

Thanks.

Most brands you have to read the label to find out if it's vegan or not, there aren't many mainstream completely vegan brands.

I'd say the description you gave sounds vegan.

cheap shoes are often made of synthetic materials.

lots of mainstream shoes in normal stores are synthetic where i look in canada and the uk- you just check the materials sticker for the little dreaded cowhide symbol.

a few styles of rocketdogs look good at the moment too- i nearly bought a few pairs in the sales the other day. http://store.rocketdog.com/index/page/category/category_id/20/category_chain/20/name/Vegan/

What brands make excellent, high quality vegan shoes? The cheap ones often hurt my feet.
