I went to a hannukah party for my neighbors last night and people had cookies there - with colored sprinkles. They asked if my daughter (17 months) could have a cookie, and I said, "well, believe it or not, she's never actually had a cookie.... and I don't really do artificial colors....sorry...." I felt so antisocial.....
But then another family said, "don't worry, you are among friends, here are some organic cookies!!" and they had some organic cookies there to share, so I didn't feel bad letting Elena try them :-) She liked it well enough and ate a few bites but honestly she prefers broccoli ;-)
It was just nice to be around other parents who are really mindful of what kids eat, vegetarian or not (they are not, but at least they are anti HFCS and artificial ingredients!)
