I know others have looked before me but I've yet to be able to find a vegan coat that suits my needs and I would really appreciate some help. I'm constantly freezing in the New England winter and what I want is a coat that is calf or ankle length that is incredibly warm like a huge blanket and that does not use down or wool. I've done a lot of on-line research and have found a few primaloft (down alternative coats) that are hip length but so far nothing that is longer. I do not care about fashion at all - all I want is to finally be warm. Thank you!!!

Have you checked Land's End? Many of their coats are stuffed with down, but others are entirely synthetic/plant-based.
I live in Boston, so I hear ya on the New England Winters; I've been eyeing this coat (http://www.landsend.com/pp/StadiumSquall174Parka~148654_59.html?bcc=y&action=order_more&sku_0=::HKB&CM_MERCH=IDX_00002__0000000141&origin=index).

I did find that coat - so far it is the top contender (I ordered one from Merrill to try first but it isn't very warm so that one has moved to the top spot). It is not quite as long as I was hoping to find - and I'm a little afraid that it isn't that warm but it is pretty close. I was hoping to find a coat that looks like a full length down puffy coat but that is made out of synthetics. If you do order this one let me know because if it is warm enough I will get it! Thank you!
