Holiday sweepstakes at Staples

Staples is having a sweepstakes for the holidays - enter in a promo code from any Staples receipt between now and December 24 for a change to have your entire purchase be free. 10,000 people will win, so your odds are actually pretty good!

I hadn't really thought of going to Staples for Christmas gifts but they actually sell a lot of good gift items like GPS devices, digital picture frames, cameras, and of course computer accessories. Just wanted to share a potentially good deal :)

Hm. I'm not sure that the "odds" will be good. Staples has many, many stores (including non-US ones, but not sure if they're included), and the promo runs for 3+ weeks?

Better off with a lottery ticket :sealed:

Hmm you have a point but also think of it this way - say there are 1,000 stores in the US, that will mean 10 winners per store. And since you are not automatically entered, your chances of winning are against the number of people who actually remember to go online and enter the promo code from their receipt. It is still luck of the draw but when you consider how many people forget to go online to enter promo codes, I bet the odds aren't all that bad!

Are you sure that it's only people who go online that will win? (I don't know) If it's certain receipt numbers, or something like that, some prizes may go unclaimed.

It's still fun and all, I just don't think it's a great shot. :p

Yep! As far as I can tell, you can only get a shot at winning if you enter in the promo code. Okay, no not a great shot when you think of how many customers they get every day, but it's still pretty decent :)
