Vegetarian gravy

Hi-

When I was at the store, I was looking at the gravies. I think that the Campbells Mushroom gravy is ok to eat; whereas the Heinz mushroom gravy contained beef broth. I was just on the Campbells website and they do not list the ingredients. Does anyone know for sure? OR can you reccommend a good vegetarian gravey for Thanksgiving?

There's a GREAT mushroom gravy recipe in La Dolce Vegan that I make all the time. In fact, once I tried that recipe, I never made another gravy again! And it's super easy.

If you don't have the book, you can find the recipe online, such as this page (http://www.veggipedia.org/2007/09/29/vegan-mushroom-gravy/). I hope you like it! It tastes less salty and chemically than prepackaged gravy mixes. (of course you can adjust the salt however you like).

I am trying to figure out what gravy to make, and I see a lot of vegetarian recipes for mushroom gravy and was wondering if it was an overwhelming mushroom flavor or if it was more subtle.

The mushroom gravy recipe I posted doesn't have an overwhelming mushroom flavour at all (at least to me). I admit I do like to add fewer mushrooms than the recipe states (2-3 medium white mushrooms rather than 4-6). I also blend the gravy so there are no mushroom chunks left in it.

I like Tofurky gravy if you don't feel like making gravy at all. I get mine at Whole Foods. I'll be getting some tomorrow with my tofurky roast.
