My company is getting an Aquasana filter. Does anyone know if their filters are vegan-friendly? Is the carbon component made from plants or from bone char? I could not find the answer on their web site. Why is such information so hard to find?

I can understand why companies might want to hide such dirty little secrets from consumers, but if a company makes a product that is suitable for vegans, you would think they'd want to advertise the fact.

i think the best plan would be to email and ask them.

i don't think its likely that they're hiding it, and i'm not suprised they didn't think to advertise it as vegan friendly if it is. how many people in the general population are likely to really consider what the source of the filter is, and be particularly concerned with it? how many of their customers are likely to be vegan? i doubt its a very large percentage in either case.
