Hello again, ladies and gentlemen! It's time for us to start planning things for December. Shall we?

It was good seeing everyone who came out for the November meetup at Queen of Sheba! Hopefully Kelley and Mary are feeling a bit better and will hopefully be with us at the next meetup. :)

I'll put up a poll shortly, please pick your preferences and feel free to discuss here!

I would be fine with doing something Mexican like Tarahumara, Thai, or if anyone knows a good Vietnamese restaurant that has vegan options, I would be game to try it. I like to experiment with foods I haven't had before.

:p You only see that place at least 2-3x a week.

I know, I just wondered if anyone has been there or somewhere else that might have a recommendation. I would be willing to try Pho Sooner.

That's cool with me -- I haven't been there yet. Are there spicy things for Jason to put in his eye? :P

If not, I can bring my Sriracha and just dose him before we go in.

There is Sriracha on every table! I like Sooner Pho quite a bit...even though there are only 4-5 options for us (variations really)...they vegge pho broth is really good on a cold day and the spring rolls are good. The Egg rolls are great...but I highly doubt their veganism (although nothing is obvious not-vegan...it's probably b/c of the batter).

Cool! I would definitely like to try it out. Hooray for Sriracha! I didn't vote for Jason to burn his ocular membranes, however if he wants to do so for the encore, I'm cool with it.

I'd be cool w. the next meetup being at Sooner Pho. Their website leaves a bit to be desired as none of the links work. We'd need to pick a date and then ascertain that they're open and then boom. We're there.

ETA: I messed up the poll and put the "Sriracha in ocular membranes" choice 2x. I've edited the poll and added starwitch's 2nd vote into the existing option.

Yes, she voted 2x that her husband burn his eye with a caustic substance.

In my defense, he wasn't here to vote for the option himself. And since he brings it up every couple of days or so... yes, he really does talk about burning his eyes at meet-ups. And how he "forgot" to do it the last couple of times.

Hey peeps! The only weekend I have open in Dec is the 6/7th. It's open enrollment time here at work, so I get to visit all of our branches during December to explain our benefits over and over and over and over. :brood: I didn't check it on the poll, but I'm down for weeknights too!

You should see the little cage she keeps me in at home.:help::pibo: Shameful. Cynics are people, too.

I don't know what I mean by those emoticons.

Apparently there is an overwhelming "yea" vote for your eye + burny stuff.

goodness you guys keep me rolling. The only weekend I can't go is the 13th. I'm going to see THE EAGLES OF DEATH METAL in tulsa! Wah hoo!

Didja guys know there's a vegetarian restaurant in tulsa? it's called Be Le. The only non vegan thing I saw on the menu was cream cheese won tons. they even had vegan cake and ice cream. Just saying..

I've eaten at BeLe once with my in-laws....i think I made the mistake of getting to much fried stuff....but it was good for the most part...and LOTS of options!

So, it's looking like the 20th-21st is best for the most people. Are we thinking about Sooner Pho, or should we continue brainstorming?

We ever going to do a potluck again?

Brandon
November 24th, 2008, 11:25 AM
We definitely can.

Just seems like people are preferring to do restaurant meetups lately. Once things calm down and the holidays are over I'm sure it will be easier to plan a potluck.

Pho sounds good to me! The weekend of 20-21 works for me as well. I would definitely be willing to offer up my apartment for potluck sometime, however I still lack proper seating. :( I should get on that.

Poor Cynic! Are you attempting to communicate in code that you need the heroic dancing pineapple to come rescue you?

Maigan, I am jealous that you get to go see Eagles of Death Metal! That show will rock!

Yeah that all sounds ok with me! Can we make it the 21st? (Sunday)

We'll have to verify that the restaurant is open on Sunday and check their hours, but I don't see any reason why it couldn't be Sunday.

Provided that works for everybody else!

The 21st would work for me. Hopefully they will be open! I suppose a phone call would answer that question. I would be willing to make it when I am home tonight.

Oops! Just read on Happy Cow that they are closed Sundays. If that's the case, and we still want to do it Sunday then we can pick another restaurant.

We could always go back to Himalayas......;)
