Hey Everyone!

I've only just started posting on this forum recently, and for all I know this topic might have been discussed before. Sorry if it has, but I didn't think it would hurt.

I have many tattoos over my body and was doing a bit of research into my next one when I stumbled across a few pages talking about vegan tattoos. I'm a little bit horrified to find out the majority of ink contains charred animal bones and at the least glycerine! :spew:

Ink does not have to show an ingredient list so I'd advise anyone thinking about it to ask a lot of questions. There are some very good vegan tattooists out there, and they generally make their own ink.

It kinda sucks that I don't eat animals, but potentially have them engraved into my flesh! I feel kinda slow that I didn't even consider tattoos to be non vegan.

It's horrible isn't it

I've been planning a white ink tattoo for a while now. No clue as what they put in that.

Google is your friend.....
you can easily find out what inks are vegan than ask around to see who uses those inks....

Hmmm..I'm sure they'd be able to sneak something disgusting into it. I'm lucky enough to have found a vegan tattoo joint in Melbourne. They make their own ink and suspend the dye in plant based glycerine. Look around, there would definately be somewhere.

I love white tats. They look rad :D

Wow, I hadn't even considered what may be lurking in the ink in my tattoos!! Really good to know this, it will be something I will be vigilant about for my next tat...

Well even the ink in pens isn't vegan, so no surprise.

all my tattoos are from before i went veggie, and it does make me feel disgusted that i may have dead animals engraved in my flesh.

strange really because people assume its the design you will regret.....

i like to think of them as reminders now, and if i ever did feel the urge to slip up (hasnt happened yet) how minging i feel about the tattoos should remind me that ts not worth it. you have to try and turn a neg into a positive......
