I do a lot of performing, so I need a pretty wide variety of cosmetics in lots of different colors... Right now I am using up all of my old make-up, but I need info on vegan cosmetics (no animal testing, etc) because I am running out rather quickly. Could you help supply me with information on animal-friendly cosmetics? :)

Zu Zu Luxe is vegan. You can find it at www.veganessentials.com They have a pretty wide range of colors, too.
I'm not really sure about regular store cosmetics. Some aren't tested on animals (like, Loreal, I believe), but I have no idea if they would have animal ingredients in them.

Clinique (most of it has no animal products..just ask), Urban Decay, and Jane cosmetics (available almost everywhere, but low quality) are vegan & not tested on animals.

Estee Lauder is owned by the same company as Clinique, so most likely doesn't test on animals (check the PETA list just in case?) Some may have animal products in them, though.
Revlon and Almay are halfway decent drugstore brands that don't test. And there is also Zia, an organic line, but I haven't tried it.

I'm going to sound like a commercial, but here it goes anyway...
Arbonne is another great source for fabulous high quality vegan cosmetics with awesome colors.
I've always been a make-up fanatic, and when I went vegan, it took me a very long time to find a line I liked. I haven't found better vegan cosmetics than Arbonne. I love it so much that I'm now an independent consultant for Arbonne! :smitten: Now I get paid to play with make-up, what could be better?!
Go to www.arbonne.com for more info or PM me if you wish.

I like checking on this site when I'm unsure about companies. http://www.navs.org/testing/whois.cfm?SectionID=Testing
I do love ZuZuLuxe's mascara, and Ecco Bella's lipstick. You can get them both from www.veganstore.com

I really like Ecco-Bella -- mascara, eye shadow, liners & lipsticks. Just check with the store or the mfg. (sorry, I don't have the information with me right now, or I'd share it here), to be sure about some of the colors. Certain shades of red may not be vegan -- but most of their colors are O.K. and there's plenty to choose from. Great quality too. (no, I'm not an Ecco-Bella saleswoman :-))

finding vegan makeup is close to impossible. i usually look at the lipstick ingredients first, since lipstick usually contains the most animal products
(urban decay lipstick, for example, seemed promising because they do not test and have nice colors, but still contains both lanolin and carmine) i seriously need to start reading thousands of packages and compile a list or something. i used to base it on the testing policies of a company but those seem to be constantly in flux (i'm looking at you, l'oreal)
do any aveda users know if the conceal plus protect concealer is okay? their website only lists some of the ingedients. i gotta find a salon near me that carries the makeup as well as the haircare.

Hi MissLego,
Unfortunatley, I don't know the answer to your question about Aveda. I do know how you feel about lipstick with animal ingredients though! As veg*ns we don't eat animals so why would we want to be licking it off our lips?
I know I posted on this thread already, but if you're looking for a completely vegan skin care & cosmetics line, check out my website: www.crueltyfreeskincare.myarbonne.com.
I just launched the website a few days ago, but I've been selling it for nearly a year. The lipstick colors are fabulous!

I also forgot to mention that you won't be able to find the ingredient lists on my website, but I have them on a disc so PM me or send me an email off the website for more info.
