I'm normally a major procrastinator, but this year I have great incentive for shopping early. I work at a department store and we are being given a few days in November where we get an additional 10% discount... giving us 30% off anything in the store. I planned on buying most my gifts there anyway, so this just sealed the deal.It just happens that I'll also be getting the biggest paycheck of the year on the day the discount starts.

My shopping is about 75% done now. Everything I've got is wrapped. I am awaiting a bunch of online orders I've placed and as those roll in, I'll wrap them too.

My husband and friends think I'm CRAZY for doing everything so early. We'll see how crazy they think I am in mid-December when they're rushing to get their shopping done and I am enjoying the holiday season. :)

I also wrap gifts as they come in..or I'll be tempted to give them early. I already made my sister open one early. I need to hide the gifts away from myself where I can't see them!

I usually wait until the last minute. It is so freakin' cold out today. I want to get all of my shopping done for the winter, soon! And I can't stand how hectic things get (or more specifically how rude people get) closer to the holidays. I'm really going to try and get it done before Thanksgiving.

I can't stand how rude people get, either.

Just spent a couple more hours doing online ordering. My shopping is done for everyone now except for my husband and his father, which means I'm 90+% done. I was trying to completely finish this weekend, but my husband still hasn't finished making his list of what he wants, and I have no idea what to get his father this year so I need his help with that too.

I agree about the rude people in stores in December. Ugh! Plus I'm a bit claustrophobic and can't stand crowds. I don't even like shopping in stores in general for that reason, let alone doing it during the holidays.

Aw! I always get my cat a gift. This year I got her this:

That is a good idea! My kitties are getting some toys and treats. I also bough them each an automatic feeder so I can sleep in past 6 a.m. again (my youngest cat will meow from 6 a.m. until I get up and feed her) but I think that is more a Christmas Gift for my fiance and I!

Good job on being 90% done! I did get some items this weekend, got some doggy treats and toys for my mom, sis and dad's dogs. I get everyone something for Christmas!

OK... I am now done. All my Christmas shopping is done. My husband got me his list today and I ordered his one big gift online; I had already gotten him a bunch of smaller things.

I'm kind of sad that I'm finished. I like doing it. I do still have to wrap most everything (because most of it's not here yet) and buy cards, though. :)

I also still haven't ordered my husband's birthday presents (although I know what I'm going to get him now... I'm just trying to spread the shopping out a little to ease the financial pain.)

P.S. sunshinegal, automatic feeders are awesome! We have one too for our kitty (along with a little drinking water fountain for her.)

oh yes, I love this feeder! She actually let me sleep this morning and only started meowing when the alarm went off. I can't want for the second one to come in so I don't have to be up to feed my other cat. They can both be fed in the morning and have happy and full bellies and I can stay in dream land.

What feeder do you have for your cat Ash?

Have you started your holiday shopping? I want to know. Are you a crazy early shopper or a procrastinator?

I started in mid-September but I'm crazy like that. This year I am DETERMINED to have everything bought and wrapped by Thanksgiving. Determined I tell you!

I am a little less than halfway done now. :pibo:

The same :D, only I'm about a third of the way done. I like to get it done by Thanksgiving so that I have more time to bake cookies.

We have one from Le Bistro, she seems to like it. Our kitty's never bugged us in the morning about being fed, but we travel a lot and sometimes work odd hours so it's nice to know she's taken care of.

On the topic of the thread, when I told my husband today that I was completely done shopping, he told me that he hasn't even started his holiday shopping. Not one bit of it.

Sounds like the same one I have. Getting the second one today for my other cat and they can now be fed in harmony. :)

HAHA I don't think guys care for Christmas shopping. My fiance has purchased one gift and it was because it was a really good sale. He probably won't finish until the week before Christmas.

Thus far I've bought two presents for my mom, one from me and one from my bf -- and I've bought my bf 3 stocking stuffers. I also am 3/4 finished with a blanket I'm making for my parents. I've already picked out what to get for my brother, some stuff for my sister and bf, and my dad. I've got to get some yarn to make gifts for my brother's gf and sister's bf. My bf's parents get a homemade cookie basket. The cats get catnip toys (and the baby cat is getting new Zerbils, which should arrive in the mail this week and I'm sure I'll give him one right away because his old Zerbil is breaking and he loves it so).

I always save my credit card rewards towards end of the year and exchange them for gifts and/or gift cards...that way I never break the bank! not year end anyways... this year those points have become extremely handy!

I usually start right about now, but I don't have any money, so I have nothing. =[

I finally got paid today, so now I can pay for more than just rent, food and gas. I don't know what I'm going to try to find for most people. I wish my extended family were also part of the name-draw my immediate family does, because I don't want more lotions and soaps from my cousins. My grandparents are usually pretty good about finding something I like, but my cousins... every year... it's soaps, lotions, or candles. I don't want more soaps, lotions or candles! If I wanted them, I could get them myself.

 I know what you mean about the lotions and soaps. I get them every year from my husband's aunts. They are very sweet to get me anything at all but I just KNOW it will be more lotions and soaps that it will take me forever to use up. I'm still working on the body lotion that my husband's aunt got me last year!!!

This weekend I plan on finishing all of my christmas shopping except for the big gift for my fiance. He wants guitar lessons so I have to find a good place for that. :)

This is our first year actually being organized enough to do them, haha. Normally we crash and burn bigtime. I'm excited about it, I've gotten some done tonight and hopefully husband will help me finish them over the next week or two.
