Here's a poll to help us decide on a restaurant. I have nominated the following three restaurants:
http://www.222veggievegan.com/
http://www.pogocafe.co.uk/
http://www.root-master.co.uk/

<<votes for Pogo or Root Master, since I've been to neither of them.

I say Rootmaster and as i'm special can i take 2 million votes? By the way if this does go ahead can i bring plus 1's or plus 2s? I have a vegan friend/s who might want to come along.

I'll be awkward and go for 222 as the menu looks delicious and not too expensive. Plus, it appears to be in a nicer area.

*chuckle* I actually thought it was a bit dodgy (not too bad) when we've been to 222Veg. I think it's mostly just an impoverished 'hood though.

If we're going by nice, safe neighborhoods, I think the bus wins. I'm not sure about Pogo, but I've never heard anything good about Hackney. :p

I don't like 222 that much :( But it's okay, it was quite non vegan friendly, as in friendly to non vegans, we took a lot of my family there once and they enjoyed it. But it doesn't excite me all that much.

Obviously I've never been to any of them (yet, perhaps someday).

But based on reading the menu, I'd head to 222 veggie vegan.
All the choices look spectacular!

But it's not in a bus! that has to give the rootmaster hundreds of extra votes! Buses are great!

Maybe we can do the Root Master bus first for a snack as a warm-up and then later we can go to another place? Or would that just be too long? Probably for some. I suppose we could make a Root Master meet-up optional. When we hung out with the Chicago clan, we sometimes spent whole days on eating orgies like this.

Huh. 222 Vegan was super vegan friendly when we've been there (I think 3 times now). That stinks that you've experienced otherwise.

I like the hip, "radical" nature of Pogo, but the bus is really cool too!

Ah no i meant it was friendly to those who aren't vegan also, as in the food wasn't too weird or anything. IT was defiantly friendly to vegans too, obviously as it's vegan.

hey, hackney's going up in the world. Stoke Newington's very middle class these days! And we have weird art on top of bus shelters too :D

MrF, are you planning on joining us, or just trying to pad the Pogo vote? :p

Holly, TQ, Jon, MrF? Is anyone still planning to come? If so, I'm going to buy some tickets tomorrow.

ha ha. I'd like to come but I really won't know if I can or not until the last minute. If it was Tues-Thurs I'd be there no problem but weekends are a bit of a struggle right now.

I really do recommend Pogo, more or the ambience, cheap prices and ability to stretch out and relax for longer than just the meal.

I can't make it due to my mums birthday. I've been to both Pogo and the Routemaster. And I'd go back to both. I think the Routemaster is a bit of a walk from the tube (Aldgate East) You should check if the market is open as well, lots of cool places to hang out. Someone compared it to Camden in the olden days. I don't think there was snack food there, burgers were good though. As someone mentioned Pogo is a little hard to find, but it seemed a really nice place. They were doing a free food day when I went, some kind of promotional thing I guess. Was very yummy. I think both areas are the kind where you should watch your bag, but I've never had any problems. You can only sit upstairs on the bus, so I would maybe ring and reserve a table? Hope you do another London meet up soon.

Gonna have to count me out. I have to take my niece and her 'm8' to see Dizzee Rascal in Liverpool that weekend. So instead of having an excellent puNk burger at Pogo (or similar) I'll be 'kickin' it wid my homies' or something like that, whatever that is.

Have a great time. If there's a midweek dinner sometime in the future let me know.

Ah, too bad.

Anyway... Looking at the poll, out of those actually coming (who have not given indication otherwise!), it seems there's a draw between Pogo and Rootmaster. Who will tip the balance in the last minute? The poll closes tonight at 7:14 pm!

I'm back, sorry was in Rome with no internet access (argh i nearly died!), but yes currently still planning to come I think, my head is still in unpacking, sorting out mode so havent had time to think yet. I still say rootmaster, it seems fun and central.

So who's going? I'm just looking at train tickets, thinking at driving though as petrol has got so crazy cheap, but if i do train, what time should i book a return for?

IamJen

I bought some tickets for us today; our train back leaves Paddington about 7:30. We used the discount from here (http://www.fgw5pounds.co.uk/) (I'm sure I posted it somewhere else too), and so our tickets were only £3 return, per person. Score!
<<has an inner cheapskate gene :p

That won't work for me, different rail people :( 7.30 okay, i'll work out train prices then car prices, but with petrol being so cheap i think driving it will be.
