I am re-posting this here...in hopes i will get some responses.

So I am in need of some advice and knowledge! I have been in the salon management/receptioning industry for about the past 3 years. I am currently in school to be a hair stylist. My dilemma is this...the salon and school I both go to do not use shampoo/conditioner/products that are labeled as 'vegan' (i.e. pureology). We mainly use TIGI products (bed head, catwalk, s factor), Redken, and Paul Mitchell. I do know that these companies do not test on animals but I have yet to find a comprehensive list from any of the companies, explaining which products are or aren't vegan. The only responses I get are regarding animal testing...even though that is not the information I had requested. Do any of you know which of the products from any of these companies are vegan? There are SOOO many products from all of these companies that it would take ages to research each and every ingredient for each and every product (not to mention I can hardly pronounce a lot of them). In my home, I use all vegan and organic hair products but can not do so at school and the salon. I hope someone has more information on this subject! Thank you!

I would venture to say that if the companies you contact are not directly answering your question, there is probably a reason. Regardless, unless you own the salon you are working in I think you will likely be stuck using whatever products they stock.

PS Pureology is awesome!

yes! pureology is amazing! I do plan to own my own organic salon someday...consisting of vegan-friendly everything...hair, nails, massage, esthetics. maybe it will enlighten more salons to someday venture in that direction.
