I've been anxiously wanting to try this since I first heard about it, and today for the first time my co-op had some!! They had plain, blueberry, and mango passion (??)... I'm rather a vanilla yogurt person, so I went with plain (I would have tried all 3, but at $2.29 a cup I had to restrain myself). HOLY CROW! It's the most delicious non-dairy yogurt I have ever eaten!! And I've tried most of them... O'Soy (yes, I know about the cultures), Silk, Westsoy, Wildwood, Ricera... O'soy was my favorite of the bunch but it in no way comes close to this. It does have a coconut flavor, though it isn't overpowering. It is SO thick and rich and delicious! I added a few drops of vanilla extract halfway in and it was even more delicious. If they didn't cost so much, I would definitely eat it every day.

Thanks for the review. I'd like to try it. Maybe Whole Foods will have it.

They are great but a dollar more a cup than soy yogurt, a little pricey.

Where I live, The regular Soy Delicious is $1.29, and the coconut milk verity is $1.99, or a little over $2, Can't remember which. However, Considering the difference in quality of ingredients (i.e coconut milk is a lot pricer than soya) + the taste difference, I'm quite willing to dish out the extra money for the occasional treat. However, I couldn't afford it everyday. Unforunately.

I didn't like these at all! I could honestly barely finish it. The coconut flavor was way too overpowering. It must just be me though since everyone else seems to love the coconut ice cream and yogurt. I must really hate coconut. My favorite soy yogurts thus far are Silk. Cheap and taste just like the real thing IMO.

Good, but not worth the expense for the yogurt. I like Whole Soy better. I don't think the ice cream is more expensive, though. It's just different, that's all. Novelty for now, but I think it's just going to be like having a different variety, not a revolutionary new thing.

The ice cream is almost 5 bucks a pint here, but it is very worth it, the mouth feel is more like traditional ice crams. Worth it as a very occasional treat.

I can't even swallow the Wholesoy. It's like a mouthful of beans.

I tried the vanilla flavor for breakfast this morning. It was only so so--bland even. So far, I prefer the Whole Soy yogurt to this one. I do have a strawberry banana flavor of the coconut milk yogurt that is on deck for breakfast tomorrow. I am hoping it will have more flavor. I will say that the coconut undertones weren't that overwhelming in the vanilla. I expected the coconut to just be like ---"POW, here I am!"

Everyone who doesn't like them can send their share my way and I'll take care of it for you. *rubs hands together maniacally*

I have never really been into yogurt, but I can appreciate some of its qualities. I only recently tried Silk and was disappointed. However, So Delicious' sister company, Purely Decadent impressed me so much with their coconut milk ice creams, I'll give these a try, just out of curiosity.

Thanks for the review. Otherwise, I may not have known about these products for quite a while.

So, just so I know the brand name is "So Delicious"? And for the Ice cream, is that the brand as well? I'm rather new to all this so just want to know what I'm looking for!
Sounds yummmmmmy!

The ice cream is actually called Purely Decadent. However, make sure it actually says "Coconut Milk" on it b/c there is also the Purely Decadent that is made with soy milk. The same company also has ice creams under the name So Delicious (or is it Soy Delicious--eh whatever). I've tried the regular Purely Decadent (very good), but not the Coconut Milk version yet b/c no store around here sells it:(

OOOh OOOh and they also have the Purely Decadent ice cream bars. Ok, I am done now. Anyway, here's their website...http://www.turtlemountain.com/index.html

Back on topic, I still haven't tried my strawberry-banana yogurt yet. I wasn't up for yogurt for breakfast, but I will get around to it. Maybe a snack later tonight.

I think Turtle Mountain is the company, "So Delicious" is their original ice cream product, and "Purely Decadent" is another ice cream line. The rep at the conference said it basically had a lot more sugar. I LOVE their Peanut Butter Zig Zag and their Mint Chocolate Chip is really good too. The Purely Decadent line now has some coconut milk-based flavors. These seem pretty good, but in a "soft serve ice cream" sort of way. The Peanut Butter Zig Zag (chocolate w/peanut butter chunks) is actually like regular, decadent ice cream.

Dude. Anything called "mango passion" can't be bad.

<<adds another item to her Christmas Trip to Whole Foods shopping list. :p

What is this about O'Soy and the cultures? I haven't had any in ages, but I loved the stuff when I lived Stateside.

Nothing has changed with the cultures -- the some of the cultures they use in O'Soy were derived from dairy. Stricter labeling means it's marked as such now. There is no dairy in the yogurt. IMO, it's no different than vegetables fertilized with fish and mushrooms grown on... well, y'know.

I agree that the Coconut Milk yogurt is by far the best tasting non-dairy yogurt (and so is the ice cream!). Actually, yogurt was really the hardest thing for me to "veganize" in my diet. I preferred Silk in the Soy Yogurts, but the flavored ones are loaded with sugar, and the plain, even flavored myself, just has a funny, slightly sour taste, IMO.

The Coconut Milk yogurt tastes good, but has hardly any protein (is it 1g?), which was my reason for eating any kind of yogurt in the first place. And of course, being that it is made with coconut, has I think 5 g of saturated fat. I know, I know, everything in moderation, but for me, I figure if all the "good stuff" (protein) that was my purpose in eating yogurt in the first place was not there anymore, and then saturated fat was in it instead, it just isn't worth eating to me.

I was disappointed to see that it only has 1g of Protein and I had expected a bigger coconut taste. But alas, I would eat it again if I was having a craving for something creamy.

rc..thanks for the info on the cultures. The discussion sounds vaguely familiar, but...yeah. I swear it used to be labeled as suitable for vegans too.

Anyway, I've gotted hooked on Alpro brand which, despite sounding freakishly like Alpo, tastes wicked awesome.

Yes, but it has 30% calcium, good enough for me.

5 g of sat fat? so much for that option.
Here I was thinking, oh, gads, raita again!

because silk plain is a candy bar's worth of sweet.

Unless you're loading up on dairy and eggs, a vegetarian diet is really quite low in saturated fat. Considering I eat a vegan diet and the only other source of saturated fat in my diet is nuts, 5g of saturated fat in a coconut yogurt is the least of my concerns.

I finally got around to eating the strawberry-banana. It was bland. I think it's official that I just like soy yogurt better than this coconut milk yogurt. After striking out with the first two very expensive flavors, I think I'll not try the others.
