Chilli & Garlic pasta
Category: Main Dishes - Pasta

This recipe is suitable for a: vegetarian diet


Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Serves: 4


Ingredients:
-----------------------------------------------------

500 gms Spaghetti
3-4 cloves of garlic
2 red chillies
4-5 tablespoons good Olive Oil


Instructions:
-----------------------------------------------------

While the spaghetti is cooking chop the chillies finely, crush and chop the garlic, put into the olive oil and gently heat through. You can do this earlier to let the flavours infuse.
Once the spaghetti is cooked mix all ingredients thoroughly.
Serve in a large bowl, preferably one with flowers on.


Additional comments:

Serve with crusty bread.

I love this recipe! My mother used to make this in a regular base, we called it "Spaghetti aglio, olio con peperoncino"

I make something very similar to this. I tend to use dried red chillies, stir in a wee bit of soya butter into the pasta before adding the oily garlic and I add lemon juice in too. It's delicious, simple and so cheap!

That is one of my favourite dishes, so simple but so much flavour.:drool: (I haven't tried it with a bowl with flowers on but I imagine that enhances the taste.:lol:)

This sounds soo good! Quick, simple & easy, my 3 favorite things when it comes to cooking!:rockon:

After reading this recipe, I had to jump up and put some on to cook!

(Okay, I wanted to come back & update on this. I actually fixed this for breakfast this morning and it was *very* good! I used more garlic than called for, but it was definately easy & tasty!)

Good stuff! I made this tonight and it was wonderful. Thanks for the recipe. I used poblano peppers instead of red chilies because I had them on hand. I posted a pic of it in the food porn section:
