What are good places to eat in Charlotte? Preferably Italian, but what are some other good places?

The absolute best is Brooklyn Pizza Parlor (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&q=brooklyn+pizzaria+charlotte&fb=1&view=text&latlng=18406467511523976584&dtab=2&reviews=1&pcsi=18406467511523976584,1&sa=X&oi=local_result&resnum=1&ct=result). Other than them, all other Italian restaurants are mainstream (like Carrabra's or Olive Garden [O.G. has nothing vegan, btw]) or too fast food-ish. Some are better than others, but none I have tried come close to Brooklyn Pizza or Portofino's.
