What are your next holiday plans?

Right now I am making plans for Thanksgiving; it will be my first as a veg*n. I have to cook for 15-20 of my family, mostly omnis. Quite a few have voiced an interest in not only enjoying their traditional meal, but wanting to try some veggie options. I am not sure what to make, the pressure is on. Normally, I love to cook for people (should have been a professional chef), but now I feel as if I have to cook the most amazing meal. If I fail, I feel like I would be a poor representative of veg*nism. Anyone have some ideas they'd like to share? My biggest concern is a main entree; most Thanksgiving side dishes are veg*n anyway (at least they always have been in our family).

So silly question, but what happened to all the posts that were in the old Holiday Forum? Are they gone? A lot of these questions (especially the common "How do I deal with Thanksgiving with the family as a new veg*n?") are likely to be repetitive, so seeing past answers could be useful to the newbies.

As for my next holiday plans, I'm taking a few days off to make a long weekend out of the Yom Kippur through Columbus Day weekend (Thursday, October 9 through Monday, October 13). My nephews are out of school, so my whole family is converging on my father's house in Tennessee that weekend, from different parts of the country.

As for other upcoming holidays, I don't have any Thanksgiving plans yet, and I have to work Halloween night. :( I also volunteered to work Christmas, since I'm not Christian, so I'll let the people who do celebrate have their holiday. I only have to work if an emergency comes up, anyway, and all our clients are closed for Christmas, so it's not like I'll actually have to do anything.

I was wondering the same thing about the old holiday forum. (Is there a reason we don't just leave this forum up year round?)
