Book recomendations

What I love about netflix is that is makes some great recommendations for you. Is there anything like that for books? I know bookswim is supposed to be similar, and I think I'd actually pay for it if it helped me choose what to read next...but it doesn't look like it does.

the only place i know of is http://www.librarything.com
you can catalog your books and it lists recommendations and you can join groups on stuff, too.
