Would you stop being vegan if you encountered a dead guide dog that had been treated humanely during his/her life, and you were really really hungry, and there was some cream cheese under the corpse, made from the milk of cows who praised all the job benefits they enjoyed at the dairy farm, and ten omnis had promised to go vegetarian and breed dogs for the blind if you just ate the cheese and the flesh?

I know you are joking but that actually happened to a vegan friend of mine.:p

hmmmmm...

would anyone donate $10 000 to a homeless shelter where lazy people are being fed food prepared by a vegan chef? That would be the clincher for me.

Guide dog BBQ! :hungry:

Oh good, so we are eating the guide dog! I love how someone thought ahead and put cream cheese under it!

Wait, so the dog lets you know that it's OK to eat it? Like, you run into the dog's ghost?

I gotta say, no, because I don't listen to ghosts.

Oh there you go, typical extremist, judgemental vegan. So I have to be "really really hungry" to want to eat dead guide dog? What if I just LIKE the taste of dead guide dog? What if I eat it all the time? Are you judgeing that? Maybe if you'd just all get it together and try to make the message more presentable and doable, more people would be vegan (vegan being redefined to include eating animal products).

I wouldn't eat it, but I could be enticed to do something else.

Wait - how about if it was an orphan child who was performing in the role of guide for the blind. And the child wasn't dead - but you could just eat the child's arm or something. That doesn't imply the child has to die or anything (but hey, if other people are going to consume the rest of the child, it's not your business). And you also get $10,000 donated to a charity. I'll bet some vegans would do it then!

I also think purpose-bred orphan children performing as permanent guides for the blind can be treated humanely, and any excess ones can just go help out deaf people or something.

No!
I must say that's going to scare me from eating anything non-vegan at all. I just imagine a guide dog corpse slathered in cream cheese and I walk away.

Of course not, that's disgusting!!

Everyone knows guide dog is best with barbeque sauce.

And if you have vegan honey that Mr. Sun brought :p

It's true I stole some off of AbroadinSacto but I'm not sure if this cause is worthy enough for me to share it around. Vegan honey is very, very rare and very, very valuable.

If the Grateful Dead would lend me bread, then I'd have a sandwich of a corpse laid dead

I'd only eat the dog if it didn't have any additives from an animal source. Is the dog coloured with cochineal? I can't believe non of you have checked the dog's ingredient list!

No, I couldn't do it. I would probably puke if I saw that. No Way. :spew:

I also think purpose-bred orphan children performing as permanent guides for the blind can be treated humanely, and any excess ones can just go help out deaf people or something. And let's think about the other alternative: the EXTINCTION!!11 of purpose-bred orphan children. Some militant wackos actually support that. And they turn me off veganism and human rights. Actually, they turn me off, period -- I haven't been able to have sex after hearing about their extremist views.

This is actually a really popular dish in my area. You can't drive more than two blocks without finding a place serving dead guide dog corpse with cream cheese. There are more franchises for this than there are Starbucks. And though I would never really ever stop being vegan for it, I have to be totally honest and cop to the fact that every time I see someone else enjoying dead guide dog corpse with cream cheese, its a moment that I wish I weren't vegan.

its a moment that I wish I weren't vegan. :cry:I knew it! You've had those moments, just like every other vegan. That's one of the purposes of my thread, to see how honest people would be. You can acknowledge a momentary thought without being a traitor to your cause.
