Hi all, I bought a bag of onion sets (not sure how to phrase that.. ) and plan to dig over this weekend and plant out, i wondered on what 'sight' to go for in my garden though.
I have a wall immediately outside my garden and my nearest patch is there, and empty (thanks to the rubbish weather recently) - just needs digging over to finish it off. but as we live on a hill this is a little damp at the moment..

is it ok to plant into damp ground? or should I go for somewhere better drained?
They'll be in the ground till about april next year..

Thanks for any advice - i've never grown over winter.

^^can see no problem Pro , onions are hardy , as long as the soil is well composted and the area is in the sunniest place possible , go for it .
