The RSPCA today launches a nationwide hunt for a youth shown beating a kangaroo unconscious in an online video.


This sickening video was sent to the RSPCA in Western Australia and shows the youth using kickboxing-style attacks on the kangaroo as his friend laughs while filming. In one scene the man pulls the kangaroo towards him and uses his knee to deliver a blow to the animal’s chest.
The youth swings his punches into the animal’s face with great force as the animal struggles to remain standing. The final punch knocks the kangaroo to the ground where it appears to lay unconscious. It is unclear whether the attack resulted in the death of the animal.


Steve McLeod, a native wildlife expert, believes the animal was injured prior to being attacked: “The kangaroo is very disoriented. It is very unusual for a kangaroo to fight like that as they invariably flee. I would hazard a guess that it has been knocked over by the car and injured. Certainly it has been stunned in some way.”

This video really upsets me, and I have heard about it on the news, and on the radio and from people I know talking about it.

They are COWARDS whoever did this, and I hope they get caught and more than a fine and a slap on the wrist

One thing I don't quite get though, is everyone is making abig deal of this, why isn't it being extended to the farms, the slauterhouses, and other places? The animals certainly do not get a cuddle before being thrown into the transposrt trucks. the animals dont get a cuddle before they get their throat sliced, or are dipped in boiling water... many animals don't even get to roam freely and are just made to be eaten. why cant some of that be brought to the public's attention as well?

Both are wrong in my eyes.

I know what you're saying, lirpa. :sealed: :hug: People in this country getting upset over this, over Colin (Collette) the whale, the koalas that were brutally attacked last month etc. And they seem to not have the slightest clue what's going on with the slaughterhouses etc... they don't even think contemplate what the food they eat must've gone through before they died for their own tastebuds.

I'm sorry but I can't bring myself to watch that. I never can with those kind of clips.

It's partly because I know it would be really distressing to watch, but also because the sickos that made the video want you to watch it and get upset. They also want you to spread it around the net - I don't want to give them the satisfaction.

Just have to say that this video even made it to the norwegian frontpages. i was tempted to go to australia and kick his ass :(
