I need to find a face wash that actually helps clear acne and is not over 10 dollars...any suggestions?

Some folks around here like Pro-Active. There are threads about using olive oil as a cleanser too.

Cetaphil is good for a lower end brand, I don't know how it works on acne but it could be worth a try.

i have this in aloe vera and kiwi:

i bought it BEFORE i checked it was vegan, google seems to think so though. they also says its vegetable based and prints not tested on animals all over it. If someone can tell me differently though I'll definitely stop buying it. It's working good for me so far though. My face feels very clean

I would try Proactiv but it's well over 10 bucks...

I've been using St. Ives Olive Cleanser crap, but I don't like it at all. I have broken out so bad and I don't really want to buy from them anymore anyway.

Well, it's not something you can buy but my 13 dd. has had excellent results with using just a cold, wet wash cloth, then applying a baking soda paste.
You apply the paste to your problem areas, let it sit a bit and then wipe off with your wash cloth.

Here's a video that talks about how to mix it:

Hey, it's worth a shot & most people already have it on hand?

Oops, my bad. I have never tried it, I just remember hearing it was cheap. Scratch the Cetaphil, lol.

This one isn't cheap, I'll be honest. But it lasts forever, I've had mine for well over a year now, and I use it twice a day. But Lush's Herbalism Face Scrub is the most wonderful thing I've ever used on my face. Depending on your skin type though, you may want to try out their Angels on Bare Skin or other products. Check out www.lush.com for all of their stuff, and try to find a store. Some of the stuff you're like, "What the heck is this?" and it's really helpful when the store workers show you how to use it.

Good luck finding a face wash!

If you only have mild acne, I would definitely try Cetaphil. Or better yet, Walmart, Meijer, and several other stores have a generic version. It comes in a big bottle that lasts a long time and is very gentle on sensitive skin. I have skin that dries out very easily and it is the only thing I will use.

Eat a papaya and then rub the peel all over your skin. Leave it on for 15 minutes-- or however long you want and then wash it off.

I have horrible skin. Lush works good on my face, but its expensive. I had a bad reaction to the baking soda (I know, its that freaking sensitive!), and Aveeno pads mad me all red. HOWEVER, I've started using Clinique http://tinyurl.com/sudsup and it's really cleared up.

i use 'alcohol-free stridex cleansing pads with aloe'
it works out real good for me
i'm not sure if they test on animals though [if that's a factor in your decision]

Pro-Active didn't work for me. I'm guessing if you're having a problem with acne you're not a vegan.

When I went vegan I was shocked that as a side effect my face cleared up a LOT.

Maybe it was too harsh for your skin type. I would suggest facial washes that contain benzoyl peroxide OR salicylic acid (which I hear can help fight acne). But those have side effects like skin irritation, stinging/burning, or redness; and your skin seems like it's quite sensitive.

But how come there are plenty of omnivores and even carnivores that are pimple-free?

Being vegan isn't a cure-all.

A lot of vegans still have acne.

baking soda + water to make a little paste.

ACV (apple cider vinegar) can be used as a toner and that has been known to help breakouts and even out the skin tone.

some people have stopped using chemicals (or soap) all together and that's made a big difference.

i mostly use http://www.skinvac.com/ and i stay away from chemicals and soap stuff.

I use Avalon Organics Vitamin C face wash and moisturizer. http://www.avalonorganics.com/?id=86 The face wash is around $9-$11 at most stores. The moisturizer is $15-$18, but I think it's worth it. I have had troubled skin since I could remember and alot of cleansers were too harsh and would dry my skin up, causing excessive oil patches and more acne. Since I now avoid using acne face washes my skin has cleared alot! I have been using these products instead and I love them. Sometimes a simple face wash(not acne face wash) is the way to go for some people.

Growing up, I've always used stuff with either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide in it from companies that tested on animals(because I wasn't aware)...I wanted to start using something that wasn't tested on animals but won't make me breakout. My skin doesn't usually get any kind of irritation from cleansers other than mild dryness.

Anyway, I bought AcneFree over the weekend...just the cleanser, not the whole set. It was like 6 bucks. So far it's a lot better than what I was using before.

It wouldn't make much sense to me if animal testing wasn't a factor.

Anyway, I don't know if they test or not either...

I use this http://www.naturalbioskincare.com/

and I am happy with it and its only been 3 weeks since i have been using. There was a period of days when I didnt use it. I still break out occasionally but my skin does look 99% better than it has before.
