Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has had luck buying vegan hiking boots in Australia (and not online). I would prefer an Australian owned/made boot, and because I'm going to be wearing them in Siberia in the middle of winter, they will also need to be snowproof (waterproof!).

I am willing to accept that such a product made in Australia might not exist but before I start a soul destroying search, I thought if anyone had advice for where to look in Sydney, I would love to hear it.

:help:

THANKS!

I've got a pair of Garmont Kiowa vegan boots. I've found them very comfy.

I can't remember exactly where I got them now, I think it was ebay for about $120.

I found the Garmont boots! In me (limited) travels, they were the only vegan boots I came across. If you are in Sydney, don't bother going to "Alpsports" at West Ryde - even though they have a wide range of trek and winter gear, they don't really keep Garmont anymore.

Trek and Travel on Kent Street was where I bought the boots. They also had those Vibram five finger things that I salivate over, but I don't do any adventure sports which would require them!

Maybe you should expand your search to Siberian distributors. Can't hurt, anyway.
