So I just bought some Purely Decadent Coconut Milk "ice cream," the vanilla bean flavor and it is sooooo goood!:lick: I do like the soy "ice creams," but this is amazing and much, much better, IMO. It really tastes like premium dairy ice cream, no aftertaste, no hidden coconut flavor (although I personally like coconut anyway). It has a great vanilla flavor. It's 150 calories per half cup too, so not bad. They also make it in chocolate, which I will definitely be trying next time!

I also bought some So Delicious coconut milk yogurt, which a friend highly recommended to me. I'm looking forward to trying that too! The only thing is that dairy yogurt used to be a large source of protein for me (I ate the Greek style, 15g protein per serving), and the coconut milk yogurt only has 1 gram... it does have some good vitamins in there though, I made sure it wasn't totally worthless! So I'll probably keep some soy yogurt in my diet too.

I just finished eating some of this stuff (but this container must have been partially thawed because it's all crunchy around the edges - yuck). I love it! Chocolate is my favorite :lick: It's great for me because soy doesn't like me. The Organic Rice Divine is good, but the coconut milk stuff is way better IMO

As for the coconut milk yogurts, I find them way too heavy or rich or something.

This page (http://www.turtlemountain.com/locator/locator.html) from the Turtle Mountain (makers of Soy Delicious) website tells you where their products can be found, but it only lists stores in the USA. There is a link to a product request form, although the form only lists a line for state, not province. There is also a toll free phone number listed at the bottom of the product request form page you can call.

Hope that helps. :sunny:

That stuff looks awesome!! WAY too expensive and not available anywhere near here though. :( The soy stuff is available but not the coconut which sounds better.

aww, thanks amy. i know where it would be stocked in my area (i've got all the local stores scoped out).

its more that often lines get introduced in the states and then not all the way into canada until they're properly up and running and definately a success. we sometimes just have to wait a bit before they let us have it too.

i could always go and ask the stores near me if their supplier is offering it yet. i'm just whining really. i shouldn't complain cos rice divine is suddenly everywhere round here (well, a few of the flavours, at least) recently and my freezer is full of it, so i'm not that deprived. it just looks so good, plus the agave and lower GI is just brilliant.

I just heard about the coconut milk based ice cream the other day and I haven't had a chance to grab some. When I heard about it, a light bulb popped up over my head. I can't believe I never thought about that as a base ingredient in ice cream.

I'll be sure to get some on my next grocery shopping trip.

I'm completely spoiled by the coconut milk ice cream now. I'm so disappointed with any other ice cream i try because of it lol.

The Coconut Bliss ice cream looks even better (if only because of their more extensive flavor menu).. i'll have to hunt that down.

p.s. - So Delicious Coconut Milk yogurt is really good too, and i'm not much of a yogurt person..

Now everyone has me wanting to try some coconut milk ice cream! I am so happy to see my location on the Coconut Bliss website. I'm definately going to hit up our HF store tomorrow.
Last time I tried Purely Decadent Ice cream it was the neapolitan flavor and couldnt eat it at all. I've been eating the Soy Dream brand, which I think is really good. If the HF store is out of the Coconut Bliss, I will give Purely Decadent another shot.

I have just been eating the soy ice cream, which is pretty good. But if this coconut ice cream is better, watch out, its curtains. I'm such an ice cream fan, its ridiculous

Bmtn, there is a great local parlor that sells it. It is off of 83rd and Happy Valley. It is called Cole Greer's Loconut Shavies

Okay, so I even started this thread, and I mentioned the calories were reasonable, but I just happened to look at the fat content of the vanilla bean Purely Decadent, and it has 8 grams of fat--7 of them saturated!... so this is definitely something to be eaten in moderation. I guess it is to be expected with coconut milk, but I personally haven't had much experience with it, so it was a bit of a wake up call for me when I saw that. The So Delicious Yogurt has 6 grams of fat, 5 of them saturated too.

I just felt like I needed to point that out since I said how great the ice cream was when I neglected to look at the high saturated fat content.
