Hey everyone, hope you are all great today :D
Well i have a problem, I can't seem to save money. EVER. i either buy my way into red from the starbucks corp, or go buy something I really don't need. Like clothes, shoes, something like that. I pay my carpayment, meddies, and insurance right when i get my paycheck, and then go wild.
Soon i'm going to be married, and my fiancee is getting tired of my crazy spending..and then being very poor aftewards.
I'm getting tired of it too.
Is there any way too keep the green in my bank account? and not to mention my wallet?
Help!

Self control! haha
My boyfriend has a problem with buying things that he WANTS instead of NEEDS
I think you should put a certain amount of money away in an account, while still saving some to spend.

Can you transfer some of your money into a savings account, so you can't touch it or can only take out a certain amount of money a month?
I've known people who split their paycheck between their chequing and savings accounts, that might be a viable option.
Are you spending cash or with debit/credit cards? Just don't carry whichever one gets you into the most trouble! :p
Or try making a deal with your fiancee that every time you spend more than X dollars at a time you have to call him about it first or something and then you can reconsider if its actually something you need?
Just some suggestions from a student trying to save all her own money! :p

 I second this recommendation. Open a savings account at ING Direct - they don't give cards or checks with savings accounts so make sure you get that and not a checking account.
Also, you might find it helpful to keep a list of things you have bought. If you're anything like me, when I look at the toys and tickets and other unnecessary items that I have recently bought, it helps me make a reasonable decision whether I can afford whatever I'm shopping for.
Good luck!

Another trick I have used to some success: Only shop on one day/month. Keeping a list of things you want to buy makes it easier for me to prioritize, and often I find myself thinking "why the heck did I put this on the list?" Also, how much shopping can one do in one day?
