I went shopping today and I looked in Coles, a fruit and veg shop and Woolworths and nobody had it
I want to get some and make some green smoothies. So tell me oh wise ones where can I find it..?

This is a little embarrassing, lol, but I hadn't even heard of Kale until veggieboards! I thought the "What's up with Kale?" thread was going to be about a disgruntled poster. So it's no surprise that I don't know the answer, but just in case it is difficult to come by, I noticed this site for victorians: www.greenlinedelivery.com.au
Yeah that's me, the sydneysider aaalwaaays finding out info for things in victoria. I'm curious to know too... local markets perhaps? Specific climates? Asian grocery stores? [/clueless]

Damn victorians you lucky bastards. You have all the best stuff.:tired:
Tomorrow I'm going into my local health food store (Mrs Flannery's) and asking for it. I must find it. I must:whip:

I buy it in vast quantities at the Farmer's markets ... I used to go to the Castle Hill markets and now I go to the Rozelle/Orange Grove ones.
I reckon it might be at its peak now too, it looks and tastes great.

Yeah, the market is the only place that you can buy kale where I live. Forget about trying to find it in Coles or Woolies...it's a lost cause. :tired:

All the farmer's markets/farm stands in my area have an abundance of the stuff. But any natural foods store and many grocery stores should also carry it in season.

Ok so I STILL haven't found it  I went to a big fruit and veg shop called Troppo's and it wasn't there.
Can anyone direct me to some sites that have info about when and where farmers markets are going to be around Logan?
Maybe I should just grow the damn stuff myself.

Well its not close to Logan but at the New Farm organic markets I saw some kale in ... wait for it... the flower section. That's right, some lady was selling it as a decorative floral arrangement accessory.
I bought some and took it home to eat. Delicious! Haha

Kale is green cabbage basically, most Asian greens are pretty much the same nutrition-wise. Also silverbeet is very similar.
Kale just grows well in the USA, we don't have it here much :)

He looks older than that pic if you look at him close up, but he's still very sprightly for 80.
I've must make a mental note to start growing a bunch of that Kale stuff. :D
