Is diet pesi, diet coke, diet vanilla pepsi, and diet vanilla coke vegan?

It's a mixed topic; I've head people argue that they are but are unhealthy and should be avoided, and others who say they aren't and should be avoided for that reason. It's been brought up on a livejournal community, and I'm pretty sure that someone had e-mailed the Coca-Cola company and gotten a response that all their products were animal product-free, so I'm pretty sure they're safe. You can always go through the ingredients list sometime and check all the ingredients on the PETA's caring consumer site?

would the crap fake sugars (aspartame)be/been tested on animals?
(just a thought that came to mind)

if you want soda why not drink the real thing.. the aspartame in diet is worse for you then real sugar.. i personally do not drink any soda.

My guess is it would depend on your stand on animal testing. If like some vegans you believe animal testing for medical purposes is acceptable as it is legally neccessary... companies have no choice here. then it would still be vegan and as coke is also Kosher Parve ( at least around passover and other high holidays if not all the time) it is to a higher certainty to be animal product free. anyway back to the testing issue. aspertame is a product derived in medical laboratories, so it would fit into the above category.

diet-rite has splenda??? :love: My surgeon has been on my case to give up soda since it has aspartame and that's a big no-no evidently (apparently aspartame effects weightloss) and i've dug my heels in since i can't live without soda (and coffee but i used splenda for that). YIPPEE :vebo:
